Live from Torino...

OK, not me, but one of my best friends works for the US ski team. She called me from the opening ceremonies in Torino. I'm really an Olympics slut. I always wanted to be a downhill racer, and (dog help me, I LOVE figure skating), the Olypmics are great. As I sit here by the pool in 90 degree weather, sipping margaritas, I dream of snow, ice, and the best competitive spirit and the community of humankind. I was in Salt Lake for the 2002 Olympics, and (despite Bush being there), it was one of the thrills of my life. I look forward to the next two weeks as being a unifying experience--and I know I'm being naive about this, but I just think we can all come together (uh, huh huh huh...he said, "come together") under the banner of sport and good sportsmanship.

Could I BE more naive?
