I've been meaning to get around to reading my collection of Hunter S. Thompson books for ages, and I've finally done it. I don't know why it's taken me so long. I guess I wanted to read his work after digesting his death for a while--you know, not reading too much emotion into the situation.

Some are partial to Fred Astaire, but I'm more of a Gene Kelley guy.

When it comes to the pure spectacle of theater, I'll take Marilyn Manson over Andrew Lloyd Webber any day.

You know I don't really have anything against Marilyn Manson, I think he is a great business man, I think most of the stuff he does he did to become rich and famous, he new he could use the Pandora's box law, he knew that if he said everything that parents don't want there kids to hear about the parents will tell there kids not to listen and that will make the kids love him, he new preachers would speak out against him and that would give him free plebiscite. I don't really think he is bad or good, he reminds me a lot of king diamond, but king diamond was a really crazy fucker.
badangela:
I totally agree with you.

Bronchitis.

Fuck.

My wife and daughters had it, and I thought I had avoided it. At least my cough syrup has codeine in it.

Nighty-night, all.

Well, happy new year, then.

I got home from a trip out of state at about 7:00 pm New Year's Eve, and was just too tired to do anything. I had a couple of Arrogant Bastard Ales, and went to bed about 10:30.

Yesterday I cleaned the house, took down the xmas tree, got baked, and watched the Rose Bowl. I don't much care for...

So, Emily Dickinson was born 176 years ago Today. Am I sick for thinking that, with a couple of piercings and some tattoos, she would've made a great Suicide Girl?

And I still love her poetry.

No big deal to me--I don't feel any different or anything. Actually, it's more fun to play old man martyr than anything. My best friend...

I'm sure you've all seen "Ah, L'Amour", the crudely-drawn animated short by Don Hertzfeldt, about a hapless fellow who gets killed in many gruesome ways as he talks to women. I just bought his DVD called "Bitter Films, Volume 1, 1995-2005", and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any fan of animation. It has "Ah, L'Amour", "Genre", Lily and Jim", "Billy's Balloon" (which had me weeping...
