Meet Marley. (Can you guess his namesake?)



I have never owned a bird before (this little cutie happens to be a budgie) - but I've been reading up on them like a crazy woman.

We got him on Friday, and he has been very, very quiet and cautious. Poor thing is still scared out of his mind, he did just start to eat in front of us though - which is a good thing. I've read that it is a big step toward trusting us and seeing us as part of his flock. I think he needs a bigger cage, he can't fly very well and slams into the side like he has vertigo.


He also tends to fluff up and sleep a lot - which has me a little worried. This kind of bird is supposed to be crazy energetic and curious. Maybe he's sick - maybe he's just lazy.


Anyone here ever own a parakeet before? Any advice or tips?

My bakery is slower than ever right now (when it comes to cakes, we can't keep bread sticks or bread bowls on the shelf) - I've had a total of ONE cake order the ENTIRE week.
