The strict "holy shit i'm huge, so i better get serious and lose this f'ing weight" diet starts tomorrow.


anyone successfully lose weight without going crazy? any tips?

I did a few years ago (I'm at the point where I really have to again). We had a contest at work, everyone who wanted in put in $20 and the person who lost the most body fat% over the course of 3 months got to keep it all. It started in December, and I got out on my bike almost every day and did a good job of eating better food (and less of it). I think I lost a total of over 30 pounds.

Unfortunately, I'm at a point right now where I really need the same kind of motivation to get me started. I was going to get out on the bike this weekend, but ended up doing other stuff. This weekend should be really nice, so I'll try again to set some time aside and maybe go into Philly and ride around Fairmount park.

I have, I went from being horribly out of shape and over weight in Jan of last year to very good shape (lost a bunch of weight while gaining muscle) and my longer runs were from 11-14 miles in the span of about 9 months . I'm talking about losing close to 60 lbs and cutting my body fat percentage in half. I worked with a trainer and nutritionist and have a pretty good amount of knowlege. I learned a lot from them. If you would like to know more let me know and I can put a PM together for you. It's not as tough as you might think if you do it the right way. Whatever you do don't try and starve yourself. It won't work. You may lose some weight but it will come back with a vengence. I'm happy to help.
