Tomorrow night I get a shot at DJing for a local gothic event, Temple. The first temptation was to play things people do not normally hear out, or ever, but I am amazed to see how much my sets are starting to look like a typical gothic night out. Back to the drawing board...Or mixing board.
How important is it really to cater to the dancefloor? I mean I've never seen more than a dozen people at a time out there dancing, and never for more than a couple of songs at a time. Oh well, guess I'm about to find out...

And it's not important to cater to the dancing crowd. All you have to do it play music that we can listen to comfortably, i.e. not ICP.
