Two things from last nights election.
1. I'm super glad that every state voting on banning gay marriage passed their ballot measures, there's nothing like proving to the rest of the world that we are the ignorant, intolerant, pig headed puritans they think we are.
Land of liberty my ass, we may be totally polarized on who we want running this country, abortion issues, war, taxes, the economy (you know important stuff). But we do know by an overwhelming margin that we don't want "faggots" gettin' married (yeah America!).
2. I was harrassed by the jr. miss bush brigade trying to convince me to vote for Bush.
Q:"Why?"
A:"Because he's a moral man, a Godly man, and a christian man."
Q:"Really" I asked, "well tell me what's so moral and christian about lying and misleading people into supporting a war that's killed thousands?"
A:"Well as soon as the same number of people die in the war as died in the WTC attacks, then the war is wrong."
Q:"Uh, but what about the thousands of innocent Iraqis who have died during this war?"
A:"They're not innocent they're all terrorists and murderers."
Q:"Huh?"
A:"Yeah, we talked about it in school."
Well I just stood there and blinked at them like a moron, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It scares me to think this is what they teach kids in christian schools, and churches around the country, and that some day these kids will be leaders in our country.
"And now ladies and gentlemen, your new facist government!"
