fall then, gray haired, quiet
cast yourself down into the hot
you are too old, too weird for this world
you had your own beauty and
five years from now you will have had again

you'll take what we give with blood on your face
and there will be a time when we look back at you and smile
and standing on that mossy place where you once fell
we will remember that
your heart was clean
through it all
