I did an enduro mtb race in North Carolina a couple weeks ago. It was fun, but man did it beat me down hard. I definitely do NOT have the fitness I thought I did and was completely bonked at the end of the day. I have a LOT of work to go to get my fitness where it needs to be for my races later this year. I went into this enduro race looking at it as a 'tune up' race and to see how I measured up. As weird as it sounds, I'm glad that I didn't finish well... I needed that slap of reality to push me harder. I'm going to be doing another Spartan race in NC in a couple weeks so I have to step up my game for that. And then a big multi day enduro mtb race in Oct. out in Oregon.
