i got a little bad news today.
my best friend's dad died this weekend and he's coming home for the funeral. it will be great to see him, but it's such a sad circumstance. his dad lived with him in california for a while before coming back here this summer, and i had been meaning to go visit for a long time. now it's too late.
he was a great guy and like a second father figure to me. he had his share of health problems and they think it was the medication he was on that did him in, so i guess he's done suffering and that may be the better thing. he was just too young to go.
it just reminds me i need to see my own father, and the other people in my life i care about, more often.
