We broke open today like music thrown away on the street.


We made a wish and a girl got up and walked.


We dressed as superheroes and discovered that life was odd without a hose.


We stammered when we found our fanbase was absolutely off key.


We preserved our culture through image.


And then the police showed up.


And then we pretended we were art students and they let us go.


The last picture was taken as proof. They demanded I rise from the rubble of the destroyed crazy house that used to reside on the corner of my block.
I will forever be a key witness to the beauty that was my hometown.
