"Listen, I'm what you might call... a collector. If someone wants it, I like to think I've got it. And if I don't have it... I'll get it."

Seems like a quote from the Penguin is a good way to start off a blog on collecting.

Doing this blog I realized just how many different things I collect, so I had to go with my largest collections.

First up:

DVDs and Blu-rays. Since I've run out of space, I don't buy nearly as many as I used to, but movies have always been my escape from things. Growing up, my parents spent most their marriage screaming at each other, so when I could finally drive on my own, I spent my life in a movie store, browsing the shelf, and spending every dollar I could get my hands on. I've sold or traded away most of my collection (mainly things I lost interest in), so what I have now is about half of what I once owned. When I move in 6 months, I'm going to hate having to carry these things out of an apartment, and into my house.

Second collection (technically larger):

Comics and Graphic Novels (and you can see Green Lantern's head in there too). So, comics were one of those things I wasn't allowed to have as a kid, so you know as soon as I had my own money it was like, hey, let's buy a comic or two, or 100, or 300. Best part of every week was no matter how shitty my job was, I could go to a store on Wednesdays, pick up a few comics, and relax. I stopped buying for about 3 years (stupid decision after a stupid break up), but I picked up a few subscriptions, went back to buying/ordering/bidding on them again, and I've never been happier with a decision. Even if my bank account hates me for it.

And finally:

Suicide Girl, and Suicide Girl hopeful, prints. Anyone who's mentioned possibly selling these has probably noticed I'm one of the first to say I'll buy one, or more. I don't eve know how many I have now, but it's enough to completely fill up a 1 1/2 binder, so I guess that means it's a lot. This is probably one of those collections that most people wouldn't understand, but I always look at these prints as a way to show my support for some of the most beautiful and generally awesome women in the world, and getting to have a great photo of them to keep is just a lovely bonus.

So there are my three biggest collections, and the main reasons for my lack of money every month. No regrets.
