My sister's vacation was this week so her and my other sister and her boyfriend decided to go up to this house in Maine and spend a couple days relaxing. I decided to skip out on classes thursday and friday and join them.
The house itself is great. It was built and owned by my grandmother and has been passed down to my aunt. The basic rule is that any friends and family are welcome to stay as long as it doesn't conflict with my aunt's plans. We got up here alright (6 hour boring drive) and had a good time of going to town and sledding on the golf course which is practically next door. While I have had a good time here, I think I could have had a better time if I had come with friends, or even if I was alone.
First of all, my siblings aren't into relaxing. They're attention spans are split second and they are constantly bored even at their homes watching T.V. The whole while there was this constant complaining about "let's DO something" when the whole point around here is just to be a lazy bastard and sit down in the quiet and read a book. They don't read. They kept on seeing the snow-mobiles that were flying around everywhere and wanted to rent one, but we didn't have that kinda money on us, so instead we just talked about how great it would be. I personally think those guys are fucking assholes, (When we were sledding a whole group of them decided to hang around us. Really those things are scary and torenting when you're surrounded by a bunch of asshole weekend warriors who think they can do whatever they want. It got to the point where they pushed us out. If I had a gun I would've shot every snowmobile's engine there.)
My silbings, They're constantly drinking. Not in that happy/ party atmosphere, but in that, "Well we should get fucked up" way of life. I did it last night and I became really unproductive and dulling the senses is the last thing I want to do in such a beautiful place, but I must admit it does make the night go by quicker.
Furthermore, It's hard to see eye to eye with my sisters anymore. They subscribe to the pop culture and think I am absent-minded and lazy. My oldest sister treats me like she was my second mother and is constantly not listening to me and telling me what to do (because she thinks I'm absent minded and lazy).
The good side though is that I got some amazing pictures of the mountains that surround the area. I'll post them up when I develop and scan them, but until then you'll just have to imagine.

And I don't mean to sound like a dumb ass but what is a morning glory?
