Ok. Moral Dilemna.

As a goodbye gift, my coworkers here got me a pendant of one of the traditional Maori carvings.

It's a fishhook, which represents abundance, and prosperity, and health and all that good stuff. The pendant is really beautiful, a nice weight and texture. ....But it's still a fishhook, and, as a vegan, I can't get past that.

I think it's a really...

i'm so sorry about your friend. but on a lighter note..yeah, its the thought that counts most of the time.
maxamillian:
me, i wouldn't change it. you might not wear it but it is a memento of your time with those people. fate made tham choose it, you didn't have it before so you've lost nothing.

also, as a vegan thing, what is it made from? you said its a fish hook. is it made from a fish bone or something? if it's made from an animal/fish then i can see why you wouldn't wear it, but if it's not then the representation it presents is how you percieve it.

It can either be a fish hook for catching & killing fish or it can be a fish hook given by dear friends as a sign of friendship. only you can get that one right in your own mind.

good luck smile

Ok, I should hand in my Fun Card, and resign my post as crazygirl. Tonight I stayed in to 'work on my musical' when I should have gone out and had fun....it just seemed like so much work to leave the apartment....required ending towel-time, walking, using a cell-phone, rocking out.....

I really wish I'd have gone, though....

Please don't let me wake up in the...

Don't worry, it wasn't _that_ good smile
B's band were exceedingly silly and the piercing performance made someone faint. Lots of pretty people to look at though.

yup, it'll translate into 736695.
I would say either jeans & a shirt or vinyl + corset are acceptable. I don't know, I don't normally go to goth things anymore. Probably the former.
Having said that, I will probably be dressed in a similar fashion to how I was on Sunday. Hope that helps!

Hello fellow NZer!

Umm, my name comes from the Italian Neo-Marxist philosopher Antonio Gramsci... this is the same place the NZ band got their name. He had a lot of great ideas, check him out surreal

How's NZ? I've been living in the UK for the past few years. But I'm coming home to study at Vic Arch school in 2006.

See ya

Ok, well we still can't find the singer but they'll probably practice around 8 so why don't we say meet outside Chow at 6pm? I will have boy with me so why don't you bring your friend too & that will even things up?
Also they don't take bookings.
Also if you walk down Courtenay Place from where you're staying til you get to Burger King ( puke ) on the corner and turn left there Chow is pretty much right there.
mjollnir:
Ha, you have revealed your true name! How do you know I'm not a 60 year old man in diapers? Hrmm, wait, you already know I'm Penny smile
See you at 6!

Yeah, but I'm an infrequent payer. I also just bought new shoes and clothes today, so I'm more-so poor. And some pajamas; I felt like treating myself.

Aren't we good little adults, paying our bills?

For those keeping track, yes, I did jump naked off of a bridge, with nothing to salvage my bones and fat but a towel binding my feet together.

Once I'm back on my own computer, I'll see what I can do for pictures, but no promises....I have limited resources in retrospect.

Tomorrow, I will venture to the town where my best friend died. As you...

She was in your dreams, eh?

My dad and my grandma still visit me in mine sometimes. It's nice to see my dad. My grandma usually only comes when something nasty's about to happen. She woke me up screaming in Ukrainian at the end of dreaming of a wake. It was about the time the first plane hit on September 11th frown

as far as vegan restaurants go, the best is musical knives on ponsonby road, it's yum, the head chef there was the personal chef of madonna for ages. it's around the corner from my house, we go there pretty often. otto woo on ponsonby rd probably has some vegan dishes, it's like an asian fusion restaurant. other than that... the hare krishna cafe on k rd?"

When I hit submit, this computer will self-destruct. I will be placed under the protective custody of an intercity bus heading for some unknown destination in the South.

Whee! Hitting the road!
