Free your mind, Free my soul

I have spent the last few years of my life rebuilding. I have rebuilt due to many a situation, and it seems I am still rebuilding.

I am quite the candid person about my past...even the idea of my future; but, if you need me to be open about my present...we are both going to be in pain.

I have made many a goal to attempt to better myself to no avail. One thing I did a few years ago was buy a book. A book to help me stop...for at least a second. I held on to this book for the longest time, never ready to open it and read it.

One day I opened it to find out it was something I should have opened from the beginning....but even then I put it down again.

"Meditations For Women Who Do Too Much"

I thought this book was going to be a novel on how to slow down. It was on sale so I bought what I thought could be a self help book against my judgement. It is not a self help book, it is a self realization book. Everyday there is a proverb and brief explanation. A very nice short sweet statement to help you think.

Today's is no different and no less perfect.

I hope you enjoy it and it gives you something to think about.

Being Projectless

How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then rest afterword.

Spanish proverb

For many of us the thought of doing nothing is terrifying. We cannot imagine what life would be like if we were not slaving away at our projects. Not to have our projects waiting for us is like trying to live with parts missing. We become so dependent upon the security of the next project that they are no longer our projects. We are owned by them.

Workaholics often experience some Depression when they complete a task. Instead of dealing with a completely natural and often feared feeling of letdown, we overlap the completion with the beginning of a new project. Hence, we never have to deal with separation or beginnings and endings. In fact, we never have to deal with anything except our exhaustion. In fact we never have to do with anything.

Perhaps today I could experiment with doing nothing, and resting afterward.

Please Feel free to comment any thoughts you may have below.

I hope you all enjoy your Halloween Weekend!

XOXO

A very close friend of mine phrased it thus when I ran down my to-do list. "What are you running from?"
