finally went out and got shelves today, 7 feet by 6 feet of splendor, all my books are unpacked finally, i even got the stuff out that's been sitting in storage lockers for years. i know i'm a geek cause i'm so happy about this i could shit kittens. i even have space left over, which means i need to find a used book store finally and stock up, NEW BOOKS!

see, every time i move i do my computer and books the first night, that's kind of how i know i'm home and settled in and as i sit here i totally feel more at home seeinng everything nice and lined up

talked to a friend of mine in minneapolis tonight and she's having a really rough time, her car got crushed in a construction accident and her insurance is dicking her around so she has to bus around town in the frigid minneapolis weather. on top of that some friends of hers have been complete fucking asses to her and for bonus points she found out she needs to have gall bladder surgery very soon

i totally wanted to rush over to her house and take her out for dinner and drinks to cheer her up, but alas, much too far of a drive, she appreciated the thought, but it's not the same. if you're reading this send some good thoughts her way, she's good people, a complete sweetheart
