santa seems to have gotten with the times, he left me a pint of jack and a pack of smokes in my stocking this morning, can't beat that

ended up going to brothers girlfriends moms house for dinner, it was cool, i've decided that i can deal with holidays if they're not my family, actually it was fun. hung out with brothers girlfriends nephew for awhile, he's like 13 or so, a really good kid, he got a skate deck and a flogging molly cd as presents, my kind of guy, i got along with him more than anyone else there

gave the most extravagant gift of my life today, told a dear friend of mine that i keep going to ohio to visit that her present was airfare to phoenix. she's perma-broke and it was either flying her here or me flying to ohio and i know she'll love phoenix, and i've seen ohio a few times so it wasn't much of a decision. she was really excited and that made me smile so it's already worth it, now i can't wait to see her. there's a lot more there with her but i'll leave it at that

it was strangely satisfying to talk to friends in minnesota, ohio, and connecticut today and hear about their foul weather while i enjoyed a beautiful day

and the best news, little brother started packing today, he leaves wednesday for his move to phoenix, i hope he makes it for our new years party, if only so i can drain a bottle of minnesota's finest swill, grain belt beer, at midnight, that he's bringing for me
