i just realized today that i can't put off christmas shopping until the last minute as is tradition for me cause this year i have to get most of the stuff shipped off to minneapolis

it just feels surreal with it being december and being able to walk around during the day in a t-shirt, don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining, i loathe the snow, i love it here, but it just doesn't seem like december and hearing "let it snow" in a mall in phoenix is downright amusing

found out my brother and his girlfriend are setting me up at our new years party. at first my brother was telling me about this party he went to and mentioned this girl and said i'd have to meet her, i thought nothing of it until i was having drinks with him and his girl and she's all "did he tell you about so and so, we invited her to the new years party" and she had that matchmaker look in her eyes and it hit me, i was being set up

again, not that i'm complaining, but being an overweight drunk with horrific dental health doesn't especially make me a catch and i'm alright with that, but i just hope they didn't talk me up too much to this poor girl

went to ikea yesterday, got some ideas for furniture and shelves, might try to go back there this week and drop a load of cash, i'd like to have my shit situated, i need to get my books out of boxes to where i can get to them. i started working on a story again i've let sit for ages and i can't find half my books i need for research stuff cause they're burried in other shit
