Some craziness in the neighborhood tonight. Was sitting watching TV when I heard a loud bang. I'm used to living in apartments and hearing loud noises and thought nothing about it at first, until I realized that I'm in a house now and it couldn't have been "those people upstairs".

Looked out the windows and didn't see anything so I decided to step out for a smoke, opened the door to find a car ablaze a block away. Called 911, fire truck came pretty quickly and they put it out. Some of the neighbors gathered and someone said they saw a couple cars kind of chasing each other around, parked, and soon after the car was on fire. Sounds like maybe it was a stolen car they decided to torch.

Of course I had no film in the house so I couldn't take any pictures, was hoping to get some pictures of the burnt out car in the morning but they took it away a few hours later. Another reason to get the Canon Digital Rebel, I could have gotten some awesome shots.

This is the second time in a week I've had to call emergency folks, a few days ago a police chopper was searching the neighborhood and I saw a car driving around an empty block real suspiciously, they said they were looking for a missing person and shrugged me off.

I can say this much, I never had this much excitement in a week in Minneapolis, but is it the kind of excitement I want? At least I finally met some of the neighbors.
