I'm so disappointed right now. The slew of people I've recently began familiarizing myself with are into the recreational use of drugs. Which is cool, I mean I am a supporter of recreational drug use to a large extent, with few exceptions. However, my one rule of thumb is that one should educate themself on the drug they plan on using before they use it.

Tonight two people I care dearly about used Triple C's (a cough and cold medicine containing DXM) to 'robo-trip', without having done any research on it, aside from how many pills it takes to get high (or low). I did the research to ease my worried mind, but came to find CCC's are the most dangerous way of robo-tripping possible. There're four stages of highs before one overdoses, though negative effects are immenent in any of the 4 stages. One of my friends, according to the mg/kg ratio for each stage is in the higher of the 3rd stage, which is often the most dangerous ouside of overdosing. You see, in the 4th stage, you're pretty close to a coma, so hurting yourself isn't an option outside of OD'ing. In the 3rd, you're able to be mobile, and that amongst many other things makes for a likelihood of being hurt, or dying.

I checked up on them, and they'll all be fine tonight- but that's just tonight. Further drug usage without the proper precautions and awarenesses is liable to kill them, obviously, and as sad as I am to say it, I await the day when something bad does happen. I'm almost certain it will come unless changes are made.

Hah, the other day, a friend of mine was scolding me on my partialness to painkillers. I feel very good about my drug experiences- because before each and every one, I'd done extensive research to ensure I'd be OK, and little to no damage would ever come from it. And to date, none has. I'd never take a drug I felt, after proper education, would potentially kill me. That isn't to say I haven't tried dangerous drugs, it's just that I learned enough to know how to avoid the danger. It can be a fucking blast, and SAFE, if you only read up on it- I mean it takes 30 minutes at most to learn enough to be fine, and if you know what to expect, you can talk yourself down if it becomes overwhelming.. so what is the big inconvenience with learning a little before you drug up?

I'm just so fucking worried, but if any harm comes to these people, or anyone who uses drugs recreationally, it should be chalked to their ignorance to the drug, and how it works, not the drug itself. Life lies in the individual I've learned, and when unequipped, the individual has the power to intentionally or unintentionally strip the life from themself. But it's their power. Everyone has the option of control at first.

Fucking.. ignorance. Go educate yourself.
