The Academy will be decomissioned by January 1st.. which is just terrible news. Here, my band and I practice, party, play shows, and generally have a good time. Now we will be forced to seek alternate places to reherse and will majoritively play boston/allston/cambridge/jamaica plains, until tour.
So I was thinking, recently I've been making plans to finally get off my ass and go to college, and to move into this apartment with my friend, and to generally get my shit together. Instead of all that, I'm going to look into just jumping head first into this business with some friends, and starting up a thrift store/antiques store/youth center/music venue.. something like this place we played at on tour called the Nancy Raygun.
I think venues are really hard to start up in Boston, but realistically I wouldn't generate enough business in a Suburb, so I really gotta figure out a way to do this.
