Now that the worst week of the year is just about over, I can't wait for the best one to begin! It's just about Mardi Gras and my upcoming trip to happenin' Ohio to celebrate my darlin's Sweet Sixteen is just after that. Next weekend is gonna be so much fun. She totally has no idea I'm coming to see her. I can't wait.

So...

Fuck I always hated Lent. I remember once as a kid having pizza for school lunch, and after I was done realizing it was Friday and I'd just sinned. By eating bad school lunch pizza. Yah. Catholicism rules. NOT.

*ahem*

Good luck on your 40 days!

Yes, the Funniest Animals show is pretty awesome. biggrin

"Don't cry emo kid!" There. It's said and I was the first to say it. Actually, Wikipedia said it and I heard it. Or read it rather.

I looked up emo this morning because I just felt like maybe I needed to and well, I think I did. I realized that I complain too much publicly online and I should at the very least cut...

It means a lot that you would take the time to try and cheer me up when you were having such a crap day yourself. Where's the *hug* smiley when you need it??? kiss

Dialectical? I *heart* dictionary.com! Dialectical Behavioral Therapy? Eeeek! Yep, my therapist is a fluffer, but she's the only person alive who is consistently nice to me, so I keep paying her.

Never did get around to seeing Rent. Crap, add movie #67 to the queue at Netflix!
bluechild:
wink i can't wait to get my hands on RENT also biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I'm so bummed today. I feel like a real outcast. I may be without a job in a couple of weeks as my personality has clashed too much with two other assholes in the lab. We're all male in a mostly female lab and it's a stupid fucking pissing contest between us with the senior guys winning. My ego is getting in the way of...

I was out of a job for a few months last year, adn I hated every moment of it. I have depression, and boy did it flair up. Do you see a therapist? I see someone semi-regularly, and it really helps.

AFF = Adult Friend Finder. We just started swinging, and right now I'm convinced that the only male in creation worth the time of women is my husband. Well, and you and ShadowCast, of course. wink

Isn't Lake Washington FREEZING any time of year? I dislike swimming in lakes almost as much as the ocean, but at least nothing in our lakes will eat you!

Have fun with your daughter! Good luck with work. kiss
luckyp:
Sorry to hear all that. I think it's hard to work with women, AND I have found that science attracts a lot of strong personalities, which amounts to "does not play well with others!"
Hang in there... change what you can, but it's probably not all you, so it's probably a good thing in the long run that you are leaving that group!

SGSeattle rocks! Tonight at Temple Billiards was fun! I got to sing like a cowboy and no one booed me off! I was so tempted to sing Don't Cry For Me Argentina, but didn't have the balls to this time. Maybe next time. I just think the song's beautiful regardless if a woman or a man sings it. I certainly wouldn't try to sing it...

I don't know what it is. The weather? My age? My daughter's age? The whole med-school thing? Or what? I dunno. But, I'm really missing California these days. I'm missing my old girlfriend who left me 6 years ago. I'm missing the beach. The warmer weather. The vibrancy of Southern California and I'm just reminiscing like mad. I miss hanging out at coffee shops and...

I think nostalgia is like love, hits us when we are least expecting it. The bug has bitten me as well and I ponder the days from long ago where life seemed just a little sweeter.
mousegirl:
has anyone in your family had a birthday recently? like your daughter? I find that I start feeling old and re-examing my life when my neice or my siblings have birthdays - I'm the oldest.

And I imagine anyone who has spent any chunk of time in So Cal would be affected by the seasonal mood swing thing.

I love it here, love the rain, love the winter. But FUCK if I'm not tired of cold fucking weather. Seattle in the summer at night rocks. Just grabbing a swatch of grass and watching the stars in 70F weather is bliss.

Crazyness. That's my life. I grew up in Christian environments and really studied the bible wanting to do 'God's will' yet have fought with some devilishness that I can't contain at times. Well, at least when I get the false ego boost that comes with drinking alcohol. Or when it comes to...oh never mind about that. I won't even go there.

I swear, when I...

when you're working through it, remember the most stagnant, unhappy person you know, and remind yourself you'd never want to be that unhappy.

I grew up a hardened southern baptist. *shudders* Later i turned to a 'hey god exists but he doesnt care' sort of guy. Then on to a full blown agnostic athiest. And now? More like an agnostic with intrest in buddhism. I have a feeling i wont ever stop redefining what i belive. Life is about evolving after all. If we dont try to change into something better then there really is no point in breathing in and out everyday. Even our mistakes move us forward.

"Wise mind 'ACCEPTS'": ways to distract yourself when enduring distress -

Activities - do something good for yourself, exercise, clean, or visit a friend
Contribute - to society, to another person, to benefit another living being (human, animal, environment)
Compare - yourself to someone less fortunate, i.e. count your blessings
Emotions - read something, listen to something, or watch something that'll change your emotion like...

I've never been a fan of the backdoor play, so that isn't the problem.

Also, I've heard/read several testimonials from women who've tried everything...cranberries, water, antibiotics, and finally d-Mannose. According to them, it works better than anything they've ever tried.

Plus, considering I've tried everything, it couldn't hurt to try d-Mannose. I've got nothing to lose, right?

What, didn't you know all commies are gay? Seriously, I think it's from some movie or something. I can't see or think of the word commie without the phrase "commie pinko bastard" coming to mind, and the association has been there so long, I have no recollection at all how it got there! blush
