ugh. i've been irritated, frustrated, and irrate and i'd like it all to stop. NOW.
my bad.
I'm not gonna rant for the rest of the week!
I updated my wmp and it's not as bad now as it was a few hours ago. whew!
I had the weirdest thing(s) happen to me concerning my obsession with the Evita - Original Broadway Cast soundtrack.
I've never owned it on disc, only cassette and that was a few years back. I'd been too frugal to buy a new copy on cd so it took me forever to find a reasonably priced used one on Amazon.com. Then I did. And I bought it. And was thrilled! I couldn't wait to get it so I could sing Don't Cry For Me Argentina with Patti Lupone again.
But, when I got it, it was only disc 1 of 2. I was bummed. I copied it to my harddrive and backed it up on dvd amongst other music files, just before my harddrive crashed. I returned the one cd explaining that I wanted both or non at all. I got a refund and I ordered another used copy.
I got it in the mail today, both discs, and was thrilled again.
Then I put disc 2 into my laptop and tried to rip it. Guess what? It read as a disc one, not two. I was furious! When I put disc one in, wmp wouldn't even recognize it. I was ballistic! I put disc 2 in a standalone cd player and it played right. It was indeed a disc 2 with the corresponding songs that are on it, but for whatever reason my wmp thought it was disc one. I ripped it non the less and renamend the songs correctly. But, my new disc 1 was still unreadable. I was really itching for the complete show and was just despondant, then I retrieved my backup disc with my music from the previous harddrive and ripped the disc one from my previous order and stored it back on to my new harddrive with the already ripped disc 2. voila! I had a complete album!
Isn't that weird? Did I make any sense? If it wasn't for the first goof, I wouldn't have been able to fix the second order's complication of having a disc one that was unreadable by my wmp, so the first goof turned out to be a good thing after all.
anyway. I'm a happy camper now and I'm gonna take a nap so I'm no longer so touchy and moody like I've been lately.
peace, joy and love to ya!
