Wow, wow wow.
I'm in a pretty awesome history of Western Civilization course. I say awesome because my professor kicks ass. He's older, reminds me of Angus Young, with gray hair, wears a newsboy cap, and he fucking OBLITERATES anything in history that he thinks was bullshit, haha.
So, I'm writing a paper on the Crusades, and I am BLOWN away, reading these sources from church officials, Popes' decrees and all of that, how RIDICULOUS the Crusades were, and how insane they were. There was even a CHILDREN'S CRUSADE, where they sent KIDS to fight with shitty little weapons because GOD IS GOING TO PROTECT YOU NO MATTER WHAT BECAUSE INFIDELS ARE SINNERS AND THEY WILL DIE!
How fuckin' insane!
It's so sad also to read letters between church officials, and how the real motivations for the Crusades were so selfish. I mean I'm not naive, I know that most wars are fought over money, someone being killed, and... selfishness in general.
But god damn really?
Okay, I'm done blogging about the CRUSADES on my SG blog. Haha.
In that vein however... I have way too much to do before finals start
Another history paper, an art history paper, presentation, lab report, lab practical, oh and uhm... that thesis that I still need to write 20 more pages for.
What?
I just want to decorate my Christmas tree, go Christmas shopping for my friends and family, drink hot cocoa and eat candy canes, oh and bake a lot of little cakes.
