Comments like that, belittle any rationality a person might have for why believing in god and belonging to a church is a good idea. That's GOD on drums not me? UH, IT'S THE 10+ YEARS OF DRUMMING AND BEING IN MARCHING BAND THAT MADE YOU THAT GOOD, NOT GOD.
Sure, if you feel compelled to take it as a 'blessing' that is fine. But YOUR hard work is what got you there...not god. How about if you had spent those 10 years working hard at it, and you still sucked at drums? Was that not god? Or, let me guess, it wasn't 'meant to be?"
PEOPLE work hard...people make an effort...conversely, people also fuck up, and hurt others. You can't sit there and say it's the work of god when it's positive and just play it off as a 'test' when things don't go your way.
God/religion or not, the hard work of a person is their hard work. Not "god.'
