FUUUUUCK. I just lost my entire post. Let's try this again.
Today was the first day of WonderCon. So much happened, but I'm not even worn out.
So I got there around 11:15-11:30, and I jsut kind of walked around looking to see what or who I could find. I saw Lou Ferrigno kind of standing around, and when I was walking, I think I saw Bob, but since I wasn't sure, I didn't say anything (turns out it was her! More on that later).
I met up with my friend Ramses and we walked the floor, looking around for things on note. I found John de Lancie (Q BITCHES) and got an autograph for a friend of mine who couldn't make it. It cost me, but that's ok. I got a free picture with him (which was especially cool, because I asked before the "No Pose Photography" sign went up. SCORE. That man could not be nicer. Seriously a class act.
I found the Hero Initiative booth and talked to them for a bit. Then I found the Suicide Girls booth and wouldn't ya know it, the girl I saw I thought might have been Bob turned out to be Bob! haha. I met a whole lot of other SG's (Cherry, Tita, Bob (of course), Dino, Cate, Ridley, and Serial)as well and got a picture with them all. They were all super sweet, and Serial even took a pic with me on her personal camera. So cool. I geek out over SG, NBD.
After that we headed over to a panel that discussed film and TV composing and scoring. It was interesting hearing about how the composer on Heroes makes themes for Hiro or Sylar, or the composer from Pushing Daisies would have to make more themes in one episode than most movies, or the guys from Avatar the Last Airbender add emotion to the scenes at hand.
After that we headed to the Geoff Johns Spotlight where it was already half over. I asked about JSA possibly getting a spinoff, and he said there weren't any plans, citing its expense. Which is understandable.
I got him to sign my program and gave him my business card (yep! I got 'em!) asking if an interview would be possible. I got a "maybe" which is more than David and Brandon got when they went to Emerald City.
But then magic happened. the DC Nation panel's standard format was abandoned for a town hall format. They wanted to know how to become #1 over Marvel. I never got to ask my question, but I did get to meet up with Dan DiDio and I spoke to him about how hard it was to get DC Creators for interviews vs. Marvel Creators. So he introduced me to Alex Segura, the Publicity Manager for DC. The man who can direct me to all the different creators. He had heard of us, and he saw the Emerald City interviews we did. I even showed Dan DiDio our site name and he laughed. He was clearly amused that we were called Multiversity Comics.
Let me back up a tad. When someone asked about the comic Multiversity Comics by Grant Morrison, DiDio looked visibly frustrated. He restated what the books concept and themes would be (going throughout the multiverse, from Earth-Prime (us) to other universes in the DC group of worlds, but that he didn't have anything else he could share.
Anyway, I shared my news with the guys about the publicity contact, which was great. They're all really excited about that now. Which is entirely expected. I am too.
After that I wanted to go to the IDW Panel, but it conflicted with the Kevin Smith Panel. Shit's hysterical. I love that man.
During the Smith panel David called asking what's going on, asking about what happened, and I told him I'd call him back. I called him back, but then my phone died! Stupid iPhone. hahahaha
When I got home and the phone had charged enough, I called them and told them the story. They seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. It was fun.
so yeah, that was day one. Tomorrow looks to be bigger. I might be interviewing actual movie stars. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK I'M GOING TO DO. OMG.
