it's been far too long since I have jotted down anything. You're overseas for two weeks and the internet flies out the window. so where to begin? I've been in London for about a week and a half and it's been an interesting experience. While I am staying with my sister she works during the day so I have to occupy myself with various activities including being a tourist. I have been outside of Westminster (the big ben and all that) if you've seen V for Vendetta you get the general outline. Outside of Buckingham Palace is quite a nice site .. I say outside because to get into these places in the middle of August is a pain. London is going anywhere only I am so I can always come back and visit.
Yesterday I went to Stonehenge and Bath. Outside of London is Incredible! when you see the country side you really get to see what the big deal about Europe is, absolutely stunning landscapes. I went on Haggis Adventures tours where a bunch of other Australians also came, small group of about 20 of us. The travel guide was a young gal and she made the trip worth while very friendly and funny. Stonehenge is really a great site, you hear about it so much and then to actually go and stand there is amazing. It was an audio tour, they gave us this walkie-tallkie device and you listened all the way through. Such mysticism that places holds it really is a marvel how it all came to be.
After Stonehenge we pressed onto a place called Bath. About 1 hour away from Stonehenge they discovered an ancient roman bath house when the Romans conquered England. I recommend people to visit this place very historic. What amazed me though is that they built a living community around it. Usually with historic sites they try and leave it closed off but they have shops, churches (which is worth seeing as well) and roads all around this roman bath house. I should actually probably call it a temple it's that big. I wandered around after the bath tour and visited some shops. After that we headed back into London.
The past few days I've also been going to Camden Market. If there is one place in London I have fallen in love with it is this place! If any of you come and visit London you must go to this place. Camden Market is essentially a punk/rock/rave/alternative market for clothes, accessories and food. So a good place for suicidegirls to come and buy
I head off to Amsterdam tomorrow for which I am most excited! and then maybe next week I will do either Scotland or Ireland I haven't decided.
Hope everyone is doing well.
