I spent the last day in Bangkok (Sunday) on a shopping spree rampage at MBK. Spent some close to $300-400 on clothes and various other tidbits. No way I would get the same value for money back home so i'm very happy with my expenditure. I left my hotel monday morning, paid off about $80 on my hotel bill and left for the airport. The flight was decent but the plane we had was an older than the one I flew with into Thailand. There were no personal tv things so had to settle for the main screen. I ended up watching all the movies they gave; Son of Rambow, Iron Man, Leatherheads and Made of Honour.
11 1/2 hours later I reached London.
I got to passport control where there que was a bottle-neck. After a good 30-40 minutes of waiting in line I got to the passport control desk. I handed in my landing card and pasport, the lady at passport control started giving me shit because I didn't have my sisters UK address on me and I didn't write it on the landing card. I told her that she was waiting for me outside and she could get her and verify who I was. She ignored that and proceeded to start grilling me about what my plans are, why am I coming to the UK and how much money I have. I told her I am only in the UK for 3 weeks and my ticket shows I leave to the US, then back home. Why would I spend so much money on a ticket if I was gonna do a runner inside the country? wouldn't I just buy a one-way or return to london instead? She also thought I had about 15 grand less in my bank account than what I told her. She also asks me what if my luggage goes missing and I said that i'll take it up with the airline (WHAT THE FUCK DOES SHE CARE?).
My plans to work in america were apparently of a concern to her (I have no idead why) but she wanted to know why i didn't apply for a working visa back home. We'll because I need to get sponsored first in the states. What about all your possessions back home? she asked me. What is it any of your business what I do with my possessions? I'll fly back home arrange everything and then fly back over. JESUS CHRIST.
This whole thing started simply because I didn't have an address on me, if that was the concern they could have gotten my sister! ARGH! In the end with a sour look on her face she stamped my passport and ticket and let me through. I got out of the gates to see my sister who broke down when she saw (it's been a year since she left for the UK). Was very warm and welcoming. We took a train and bus back to her place, had a shower, dinner and crashed.
Now gonna get ready and might go for a walk outside.
So this is the beginning of london.
