I have been so stuck on romantic, sexy country music lately...I think my brain is finally starting to move from the "ZOMG!!! ASH IS SO SAD!!!" feeling taking the main focus to something more like "I wonder what is out there for me...maybe there's real romance out there..." I do a lot of things that are completely and totally un-ladylike. But deep down, I want to be romanced and kinda swept off my feet someday. And this kind of music...it doesn't depress me like it does some people...it makes me kind of hopeful...you know?

I had my annual review for work today...apparently I am exceptional.
So, come October I have a nice raise coming. I also have a new director who has only been here about 6 months, but who is supremely pleased with me. So...YAY!
Today is also the first Monday in a long time where I have woken up in a good mood. It was just an absolutely beautiful morning today...beautiful sunshine, birds chirping outside of my window, my sweet little puppy curled up by me. It was a good morning. Plus, I actually think I got a FULL 8 hours of sleep last night. It was definitely necessary.
Best friend Lee texted me this morning to invite me to the Blink 182 concert in Detroit in a few weeks. I am not going to lie...I heard this tour was happening and I got really excited. Then I realized that I would probably be made fun of for my level of excitement because, well, Blink 182 doesn't even exist anymore, but Lee knows me...he got the extra ticket just for me. Yay!
I am almost through my Monday at work...I will be here for about another hour and a half. Then I have to work tomorrow, then I am off on a roadtrip Wednesday. I have probably needed a vacation for a long time now. It won't be a particularly long vacation, but I will be by the water and the waves...I will eat a shit-ton of seafood...I will take my laptop for research/mapping purposes, but will leave it off when I do not have an absolute need for it. It will be glorious.
My best girlfriend from college just called to say she's in town from Cleveland today...so I think I will bounce out of here now and try to visit with her for a while. I hope everyone has an awesome week!
