Ok...so...my conference is here. Which means only 3 more days until they're gone. I am SO glad that I didn't head out of town like I was tempted to last night. I was getting a cold, then I got a migraine yesterday evening, so I went to bed early, woke up late, and felt pretty much better except for an earache which has miraculously faded as the day passed. My schedule this week looks a lot like this: Conference, Sleep, Conference, Sleep, Conference, Sleep. I will be there 6am-10pm tomorrow, 7am-11pm Tuesday, and 8am-9pm Wednesday, so send me positive vibes full of energy since I am sure I will be dead on my feet.
So, a whole bunch of you guessed right in my last blog...the thing that was making me smile was a guy. I am now in the process of trying to figure out what to do with him. I figured out what's wrong with him. He likes the weed. Jon liked the weed. So much so that I was ignored a WHOLE LOT so Jon could go get high/drunk with his friends. This makes me INCREDIBLY nervous. However, I agreed to go to the Jimmy Buffett concert with Dustin on Thursday night in Cincy (my dad and his girlfriend are going too!), so we'll see how that goes. He's a really good guy. Has lots of great hopes/dreams, is super smart, good-looking, funny, doesn't drink at all or do any other drugs, etc. But, he canceled a date with me Friday night because he wanted to smoke after work. I was bitching about this to DevilsReject and he made a good point. He said something like "This could be a one time thing since the two of you are new and he didn't know how you felt about that...it's just too bad he had to put that doubt in your mind". Which is really what it is...I am now automatically going "oh great...this is about to get crappy fast." I am not really intending on this becoming a serious relationship...just someone nice to spend some time with and go out with. So, it's probably not that big of a deal. My list of "wants" would be impossible to meet unless some absolutely brilliant scientist invent a "make your own man" machine anyway. Compromise is necessary.
Jazz & Rib Fest is coming up. I am REALLY excited about that. Going to that has been kind of a tradition for me for the past 5 or 6 years and everything there is just so tasty. Tons of types of smoked meat with amazing sauces...YUM! Spiral cut potato with cheese and bacon on it...YUM!
