a product, entertainment, fitness,
profit, understanding, intoxication, a mate
relaxation, or just some friendly conversation
If you were to stand
motionless and alone
in the commons for eleven hours straight
not attempting to entertain
not attempting to make an income
not attempting to improve yourself or the world
not attempting to make a statement
not attempting to read a book or listen to music
not attempting to relax or achieve a zenlike peace
you could be hassled by the cops and asked to leave
such inappropriate behavior has been illicit in the commons
since the birth of civilization
the people of the commons must be productive
in their actions, drinking in the world
of things to choose from
and/or purchasing their freedom to be there.
