what if there is some piece of our own body,
some mutated cell, or bundle of neurons,
that knows a little something, and has the desire to communicate
what it feels is the truth about whatever
if it becomes aware that we are capable of listening to it yell,
what if it yells all day long, and a senseless pain is all we experience,
and its been yelling for so many years,
it doesn't remember what it was going to say even.
do you put the little feller out of its misery
or do you acknowledge and investigate, and then when it falls asleep
listen very carefully to hear if there are any other goings on.
i wonder if that's meditation, or yoga, to develop an active
receptivity to the sensations, the right-or-wrong communications between
individual cells and the mind, between individual memories and the soul, between certain archetypes and the self.

maybe compassion begins with a willingness to perceive
what is going on inside. so if you don't have compassion for
the cells of your own flesh, you don't actually have compassion, you just have ideology.
