Im reading Understanding Power and thinking Chomsky would make an excellent lucifer character... if he was so inclined to enter the theatre. What does one do with this kind of book? Its too full of things I want to know. Is there a critic alive capable of calmly and without sarchasm picking apart or deconstructing Chomsky? No, It cant be done. Which is why it has never been attempted. You can always get a quick dismissive comment from any moderate republican alive, but what you cant get is a calm point-by-point elucidation of their reasons for disagreeing with his outlook. And when chomskys able to sit opposite and respond to each argument brought up, the other person is inevitably reduced to whining and mumbling incoherently something like I believe hes wrong, because I believe hes wrong. Or I believe hes wrong, because if hes right, god help us all.
