They were more interested in saving the ordinary people who were out of the world, saving the unlucky jerks who had escaped from the tidal force of common knowledgethere was risks of course, one of which was the risk of suddenly falling into the same tired habits and routines of all their fellows. Sometimes saving them was the equivalent of letting the water take them swiftly back into the world that was unbearable, devoid of exctasies, and yet familiar. And real enough to fit a couple billion people.
