For some reason lately, I've been having an unnatural obsession with owls. Every night my dreams are filled with all sorts of owls, some even talk to me. Being an avid bird watcher and photographer, never seeing one was starting to weigh on me until today.



Not only did I see one, I got to photograph it. It let me approach fairly close and allowed me study it for a little while. She is a Burrowing Owl and she is guarding her nest which is just below the mail box she is perched atop. These birds are very close to being on the endangered species list and I feel very honored to have observed her.
