I've started a new project at work for a close friend. Never knew she wanted something made by me. It's an ambitious project she inspired. Making a completely custom ring that embodies her. Lately I've started having odd ideas for jewelry. Making a piece that expresses lust or happiness. It's simply a question of how to make the non-physical tangible. There's a lot of reference material I need to gather first. Basically I'm putting a collage of images, words and sketches together until it reaches critical mass. Then comes the waxes and casting, the finishing and setting of stones. This is going to take a while.
