I walked in the rain. Yes, that really hard rain that says, "I punish your day and make your summer." Rain that demands your attention. Rain that penetrates the umbrella and waterproof hiking boots. Undeniable. Rain that beats you down and exalts you in every drop.

its such a wonderfully sunny day today!!! its making me feel very energized smile

p.s. - the haiku rocked. lol. i managed to introduce her to a nice 19 year old that seems interested in her. now to stop play flirting with her and give that stance of "not in this lifetime".

smile thank you.

Much happier today. Bought some books. Wrote a poem for the first time in forever. Worked on my show, however indirectly. Made myself dinner. Doing some insistent laundry. This could only get better if I could spend time with a dog. Or my guy.

I like and trust myself a lot today.

Nothing like a little heartache to lift the writer's block, eh?

I've liked and trusted you a lot for a while now.

Will you honor us with the poem?

I need to cook more. Omelet party? But make me wear shoes.

My back has been bugging me recently. I was walking around Smithsonians with my guy today and my back just could not take any more. I need to let this heal completely. No lifting heavy objects, no cute shoes, no carrying around extra crap. Anyone want to buy me a new bed?

So...

Hmm, following someone is always even more tricky than it seems it'll be. I think you're onto something about having to both love your work and love the other person--if it's just the latter, then that's putting too much pressure on something that doesn't deserve it.

I agree about Busboys and Poets--it's my neighborhood diner, and I'm afraid I end up there a little too often. But really, I can't be expected to make a peanut butter sandwich at home when there's a much tastier one just down the street, can I?

frown Missing someone sucks, but it can make the reunions so much more special.

It was awesome running into you yesterday afternoon. I understand you're busy, but if you're ever bored, we should hang out! smile

Somebody tell me why I should like the new layout better. It's as though they're trying to keep me away from everything I want.

Anyway, had fun last night. Thanks SaintInsomniac for enticing me out. Thanks Arkane and Mnislahi for the meet-up and beer. Thanks DominaNefret and Katie for defecting, driving, and being wonderful and amusing.

I think I enjoy the people more all the...

I had the same reaction at first, but I've mellowed to it. There are a ton of new features.

Still not liking the color scheme though. The pink on white gives me a headache to look at after a while.

So, the Hindu-Jewish wedding weekend. With extra nonsense for my most loyal fans.

I'm just now getting around to telling you about it.

It was good.

It was nice to get out of the city. Everything was so green. There was lots of grass. Think about it. In the midwest, there's all this grass, not being used for anything. Just kind of like wallpaper. And...

I am (should be) preparing for my trip to a Hindu-Jewish wedding this weekend. Well, the clothes are washing, anyway. Laundry time is the best time for an update.

It was awesome to see folks at the SGDC event last weekend. Hoo ray.

Okay, so I can't not talk about this. It's gotten me totally off my game. (I know I'm saying that too much...

Click goes the remote, there you have my vote...

I'm opposed to Ann Arbor by dint of my biology. I'm sure it's lovely; I just never plan to find out (that and I'd never get into Michigan Law anyway tongue )

Have you been in DC long? I grew tired of living there eventually, but I really miss it pretty often now.

Hello all. I'm back. Basically, I've been spending my money on clothes and stuff. See everyone Saturday?

For those interested in the mostly-unwritten saga, I've finally finished my taxes (copying, stapling, and mailing aside). On other fronts, I am so tired this week. But I had beer for dinner, so that makes it okay. And none of this makes any sense.
hafu:
ah, the tiredness bug. i went through that last week.

good job with the taxes though. like to finish them rather last minute eh?

nothing wrong with a beer. i did one last night with a burger.

So I was in Candida's World of Books today. (DCers, that is an awesome store and I heartily recommend it to those who have not been there.) And there was a soft and fluffy dog the color of caramel with a liver-colored nose and a purple tongue. Maybe half chow or something. So friendly. Calm. I gave it some attention and it just followed me...

I have been soooooooooper busy recently--worked 12 hours yesterday and getting ready to work another 12 today. And this is my weekend! I'm tired already.

I wish I could have a big rubber dog toy to just chew on in the meeting... but that might attract extra attention. So I'll crochet instead and look like I care.

Have a lovely week.

And if you do...

I don't usually (and I'm generally content to be an observer to the weirdnesses of the world) but I have a soapbox. I have a rant. And--perhaps worst of all--it involves ART.

So I'm talking to my roommate who happens to be in the kitchen watching that between-movies crap on HBO and playing with the remaining spaghetti on his plate. And he asks me random...

theinsomniac:
My two cents:

"Acting" is both a skill and a talent.

The true greats are those that are both blessed "by the hand of God" (as Professor Zerbe said it) with sheer talent, and who work hard to develop skill and technique.

Most actors are one or the other. Someone blessed with talent and who knows it, but does nothing to develop their skills beyond what they naturally posses vs. someone who works hard to develop skills, but lacks that spark of the divine.

Play group. Next month. Seriously.

Anyone see the moon tonight? It's a beautiful night for lunar howling. This is the first time since I moved to DC that I really wish I were in the country instead. Somebody with huge tracts of land please belt one out for me.
