OK. That was so much fucking fun!!
Because I got to soak my eyes in Polly Jean's presence at the Catalyst, this time I was more free to dance around and goof off with my friends one of whom unabashedly flung herself around and yelled "GODDESS!!!" at the stage, a sentiment I fully agree with.
I jumped up and down, I slinked and slithered,. I dripped with sweat. I pounded my fists on the air. I almost hit this guy in the face bcse of my wild possessed movements. Me and my friends screamed lyrics at each other and laughed like crazy and basically cleared the space around us, as other more circumspect mature folks chose to divest themselves of our ridiculously over the top antics.I felt like I was frikken 16, and I loved it.
I was saying to my other friend jokingly that I wonder if a PJ show is like the way Dead Shows used to be (yes yes, my sordid hippy past, get over it) in that you could go in there and just put out the request for a song mentally, and then next thing you know, they are playing it for you. I have been in love with "The Garden" and a lot of songs off of "Is this Desire" that meshed incredibly well with _Iron Council_ (you know, that book by that dude...). I mean I fucking love that goddamn song and I suddenly just took a moment and asked for it in my mind at Polly and she fucking played it.. She played Catherine too, and Perfect Day Elise as well as oh so many other fantastic songs.
The queer thing about it is that after being denied our encore by the Warfield (fuckers) someone was outside with the set list giving them away, along with these neat posters. So she had planned to play those songs all along...I guess it would have happened whether or not I offered my music prayer up to her.
I still feel an uncanny sense of deliberate grace falling in my favor though, like the Weaver saw the potential for a beautiful piece of worldweb and wove it in, pulling interdimensional strings that resulted in a pure unadulterated moment of bliss for me.
A big ol exhausted grin of satisfaction on this girl's face.

Better than sex, mate, better than sex.

in that interview on morning becomes eclectic, she said something about that, and the two of them cracked jokes about brits living in a warm place like LA...but she obviously like NY, too, so maybe it just means more shows in general...
