I love my local library.
Been reading "the dark is rising" series by Susan Cooper. written in the 70s with kids as the protagonists. An amalgam of mystery, fantasy, history, old magic and myths of the celts. Takes place in england which I have never been to.
But one of the things I have found fascinating about Britain is that their ancient history is pretty evident. (yes, so are other countries' but this is closer to my bloodline) What with Standing stones and burial mounds, where the light shines exactly on the centerpiece on midwinter's day...I used to be way more into that stuff.
On my way to the checkout I saw a jolly big book on the celts with great pictures of artifacts so I got that one too. The thing about the library is that you can get what you want (unless it is out of course) and you don't have to choose, agonize over which thing you can get bcse of money constraints. Just check em all out!! ha HA!!

Anyway, the books are great and you can read one in a day, as I did, today during my breaks.
I *heart* juvenile fiction biggrin
