Another late night. No work for me tomorrow so why not? Who cares?

I have to get ready for Burning Man. fuck. Every minute that I spend not prepping is a minute wasted. I feel so guilty wandering around SG, or organizing colors for my mosaic work. Do I have a mosaic project for BM? No.
-----This afternoon we had a B-Man camp meeting. It was a blast. There were quite a few people from the b-day party last night, all cracked out and hung over. I just kept getting overwhelmed with how much I love these folks. Friends are so important, and I often wonder why we have the friends we have. Sometimes it seems inexorable, inevitable. And then there are always those people that you meet who you want to be friends with but some circumstance or another or pure laziness drifts you from them... I see a lot less of many of my campmates since I moved across the water, but being with them again and planning our excursion together just felt so comfy and familiar and right and good.

Why do we end up with the people we end up with? I have often wondered that. And I wonder if you can make connections anywhere, you just choose those people at that time and then they become important. Is it completely arbitrary? Are we "meant" to be anywhere? Do we believe that --these people, this group of friends,or this one person- are the important ones for reason beyond our understanding, or do we just say that so that we can be satified with the situation?
If I surrounded myself with different people what kind of effect would they have on me, my lifestyle? And would it be just as supporting, elucidating, goofy, fun and full of mutual admiration? If you leave a group that supports bad habits will you lose those habits? And even if that is true, will the other people you meet still give you that sting of self recognition and gratitude, or will things just seem a little flatter, the colors duller than those bright days with those crazy sweet folks? Why does this matter?
I have my own answers to these questions. but they are always changing. What do _you_ think?
