-------------------------Enough of that. I am obsidity. Whoever THAT is...
I was at a close friend's birthday party last night and I got a cup for my beverage, and decided to put my name on it like others had. As I put the marker to the cup I realized I was about to write "obsidity"! I told my friend and I said that that's silly bcse noone at that party knew me by that name. She replied," well it doesn't matter cuz they will just know it's not their cup."
Very wise.
---------------I got to spin records late in the evening, they had some great house music before that but It was not an apartment made for bunches of people dancing and I just felt claustrophobic. I hadn't touched my records in ages. And I wasn't going to "DJ" DJ but just put on a side of a compilation of lounge and such, but then once I got started it felt wrong to just leave it. It was nice mellow stuff, and the tempo changed a lot from song to song so I didn't even try to beat match , just did the fade crossfade. I got a lot of compliments
--------And we played this "boards of canada" song twice. actually 3 times. I had played it earlier in the set and then when I finished it was the only song I could think of to end. Then it ended and we were all like"let's here is again, rewind selectah!"very dreamy ethereal song called "a beuatiful place out in the country" and the vinyl itself is sky blue.
---------There were some people I knew, and a lot I didn't and I was in no mood or shape to meet them, so I just hung around my close friends.
People liked what I spun. Maybe if I was making money I would buy more records, But I can't really play anything too dancey or else I end up out of the DJ area and on the floor. First and foremost, a dancer.
My eyes are shutting as I write this cannot keep them open 1 minute more......

You're speaking my langauge, baby! Sex and death! Haha. One of the promoters of a show I've got coming up calls me Ms. Macabre and thinks I'm a freak because of all the (disappearing) fake blood and cartoonish violence in my show. Don't tell him, but the show I'm putting together for him involves a murderous widow, self-mutilation with knives, being shot in the head by vengeful demons and taken down to hell where I get my horns. All fully choreographed and involving 3 sets of costumes! Gawd, I love my job!!! You so have to get back into it!
