A Poem
I turned the key
dead battery
begged for a jump
from the crackhead next door
Traffic is slow
Already fifteen minutes late
Boss is going to love me
Fifth time this month
I hear the kid's toy
as it squeaks in the back seat
He'll give the wife hell later
Marriage has its privileges
Asshole cuts me off
I run out of parallels
for his head and a donkey
Should have just rammed him
Pull into the parking lot
dropping ash on my pants
burning a hole
No time to to worry about it
Boss is yelling at me
I'm inexcusable
I slam his head against the wall
Everyone just stares
I walk back out the door
get in my car.
I light a cigarette
it is only monday
I turned the key
dead battery
begged for a jump
from the crackhead next door
Traffic is slow
Already fifteen minutes late
Boss is going to love me
Fifth time this month
I hear the kid's toy
as it squeaks in the back seat
He'll give the wife hell later
Marriage has its privileges
Asshole cuts me off
I run out of parallels
for his head and a donkey
Should have just rammed him
Pull into the parking lot
dropping ash on my pants
burning a hole
No time to to worry about it
Boss is yelling at me
I'm inexcusable
I slam his head against the wall
Everyone just stares
I walk back out the door
get in my car.
I light a cigarette
it is only monday
