I had the chance to watch a film called Immortal. Interesting film. Not really a good film, but I liked it. It is French and well I have this thing about French films. I don't know what it is but I always love the artistic feel to everything that is done in them. The whole basis of the movie is the god Horus is trying to impregnate a woman before he is sentenced to death. Yeah odd concept.
Speaking of movies I like, has anyone here ever seen Dave? It is an old Kevin Klein film. He has to act as a stand in for the real president because he is a dead on copy of him. The real president goes into a coma and he ends up having to run the country. Which he tries to fix.
I love the romanticism of that idea. The ability to fix what is wrong with the world or country. I remember reading the Sandman long ago and Neil Gaiman had an issue about a character named Pres who did the exact same thing. He started out fixing all the clocks in his home town because none of them were on the same time. He moved from there and eventually becomes a good president. It is that idea that just makes me smile. Someone who has the welfare of the people at heart and wants to make an actual difference not a monetary or evil political agenda. I need to watch that movie again.
Anyways thanksgiving was interesting. Family as always but I liked it. My brother came home and that was good. I will see him before he leaves again. I miss the little bugger.
