Snow is better in Portland than Chicago because first off, it happens so rarely that the whole place feels transformed and everyone gets this giddy sense of snow-day unreality. Second, and perhaps best, it all melts in a day or two before it gets to that churned-to-grey-mush state that characterizes Chicago for most of the winter.
Sadly I telecommute to my job, so there's no rest for the wicked today at chez obelisk. However, I think there are Irish Coffees in my future tonight at the nearest bar I can slog to.
