Oh man, that was a wild weekend. Where do I start?

The un-ironic pleasures of San Francisco:
--Riding a cable car on a sunny day, hanging off the back platform letting the wind blow in my face. All I can say is... wheeee!
--Watching the seals at Pier 39. They seem to spend all of their time laying around, barking at each other and occasionally rolling over another seal. Cute, giant lazy bastards they are.
--Eating an entire fresh crab, just out of the pot (with a little lemon) on a paper tray at Fisherman's Wharf. Mmmmm.
--Beuna Vista park. Fucking gorgeous, and it does indeed have a nice view.
--The Bay. The bay! Beautiful! Boats! Alcatraz! And stuff like that!
--Checking out the vintage stores on Haight. Okay, that is perhaps not a completely unironic pleasure. The Haight was interesting. It's like the Ur-version of hippie-esque streets all over the country (for example: Hawthorne St. in PDX).

SF is a great town--I'm half in love with it already. It's kinda like... Los Angeles, divided by Portland equals San Francisco. (Or, LA/PDX=SF if you like it that way.)

Oh and the other best part was I got to hang out a lot with Nixon. That was swell as I've missed my favorite happy little dark cloud since we both moved out of PDX.

And then there was prom. That might get another post all it's own. Let's just say there was music, there were hawt ladies, there was one fine looking Obelisk, there was a somewhat misbegotten hotel after-party and there was some debauchery. Perhaps more than some, to tell the truth. But there are some events at prom that, as they say, will stay at prom. biggrin
