what a week it was...
starting last saturday with the passing of my grandfather. made for a long sunday.
monday i worked long, tuesday i worked, and then drove to west virginia. wednesday and thursday were the days for the functions. there were many times when tears came to my eyes. most were not for my grandfather, but for the others who were hurting so badly. my grandmother is so strong, she kept a light spirit, reminding us all of the great times we had with him. never dwelling on the loss. my sister who is getting married in 5 wks, 6 days (here fiance' is keeping us all informed of his impending doom) and she wanted him to be there, we knew he was dying and hoped he could see a grandchild married. the last thing to really tug at us was when my cousin, a coastie, presented the flag to my grandmother. not expected at all, tugged hard at all of us. the rest of thursday was spent with the family around the house.
friday we drove back to work, yuck. saturday was spent with the gf parents. spent the night, and then spent all of sunday with them too. it was good to share some time with them, get to know them.
now the week has started here at work, it sucks. thank goodness it is busy, so i don't have time to think about my grandfather. i do miss him a lot.
