First day off in 2 weeks.

Sweet.

Restaurant is going great, we're busy all the time. It's hectic and crazy, which is fine. Things are coming together.

Long days. Just doing brunch tomorrow, then open finally for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Monday.

It's rough ... we could use a few more cooks on staff. About to be a lot of long days, I think.

But it's good.

Opened for breakfast today. The LA TImes, NY Times, and LA Magazine were all there ... for fucking breakfast! It's going to be insane when we open for dinner.

Just when we were about to open for service, the day before, actually, the city building inspectors came in and decided we needed to knock out a wall in the kitchen, which means we now have to get the health inspectors to come back out and do another final inspection when the wall is finished.

Pigfucking bureaucrats.

So the new restaurant isn't open yet, but we;re inside and prepping and practicing, and should open within a week.

Finally.

I'm still officially working at the hotel, but I'm not there much, and it's hard to be motivated when I am there. Officially I'm out of there next Wednesday ... thank God.

Ok ... things are slowed down for a couple days, at least.

After Roman's birthday, it was just lots of work for a few days.

Saturday night, CJ asked me to cater a dinner with him at some gigantor mansion up around Bel Air in the hills. Pretty amazing place; one of those kinds of places with a gate and a 40-foot wide fountain in...

Tuesday was my friend Roman's birthday, so my friend T and I tricked him into getting into my car to go to lunch, and took him away from Hollywood all the way out to the beach in Santa Monica. He said he hadn't been to the beach in at least 8 years, which is longer than he's actually lived in LA.

So I was out drinking Sunday, started around 1pm at a barbecue at a friend's house, and continued on to a friendly bar. Left the bar somewhere in the neighborhood of 4am I'd guess, although I'm not too clear on the subject.

Got up at 8.45am to head to work. Hung over.
