Well, I didn't make it back to Dallas for Carter's funeral ... I just couldn't afford the trip (airfare + car rental + expenses).
But I contacted the people that mattered, the ones that were closer to Carter than I was, who were the real reason I wanted to go back -- to be there for them.
What I hear is, the huge-ass church they had the service in, was standing-room only, it was so packed. So many people pouring out so much love and affection and sadness at his loss. But so much admiration for his life.
Seriously -- the reports I've heard peg the number of attendees at over 700. 700 people at a funeral, are you fucking kidding me? Listen, I'm no stranger to funerals. I've been to far far too many of them in my relatively short time on this planet .... and I've never been to one that had over 700 people.
The FDA has released a statement saying that they're going to launch an investigation into the anti-smoking drug that he was taking. His girlfriend claims it was that drug that drove him nutso and caused him to act the way he was acting. I believe it .... I've never seen that guy even jokingly act aggressive or violent. Something was definietely wrong, and way out of the ordinary.
I could say more ... about myself, my life, what's going on with me.
