damn, what a weekend so far... hurricanes, weddings, alcohol, old friends, new friends (?)... time to rest now
went to one of my best friend's wedding yesterday and had a blast... very unusual for me to enjoy a wedding. he had already clued me in that his bride-to-be was going to introduce me to her cousin, he failed to mention that he had the same intentions of making sure i met his going-through-a-divorce cousin. made for a fun evening though... short ceremony (very nice considering the heat and on-again, off-again thunderstorms), much bourbon (haven't done that in a long time), dancing (very hard to coax me onto a dance floor) and, of course, the single women didn't hurt matters any...
so, after the wedding/reception/hurricane party, i arrived home around daybreak tired, tipsy and wondering where the storm was headed. looks like we will be getting a glancing blow, but probably still enough to take out the power for a week or so and trash the yard... hopefully i won't lose any more trees in this one.
good luck to everyone in sg land that is in the path of hurricane dennis, this is a strong one and shouldn't be taken lightly. if you are on the east side of it, take cover or leave... i've lived on the coast all my life, so i know when to worry and when to sleep through them. this is one to watch.
