have you ever been to a city where the people are as nice as possible when dealing with them on a one to one basis... but are some of the most inconsiderate ever experienced when dealing with them on a non-personal, group level?

don't you love days when fate seems to kick deserving people squarely in the crotch

Lunch with... hmm... egh, that's tough. And the reason is, lunch dates are so awkward. With anybody who was impressive or interesting, I'd be worried about dropping food in my lap or eating too slowly/too quickly or whatever else. And with anybody not so impressive or interesting, well, why do it at all?

I guess I would choose either Bill Clinton, Diana Hampton (a former stripper who is presently sitting as a judge in Nevada), or SG's very own Missy. There are so many questions I'd like to ask all of them. I just think it'd be an interesting conversation.

As for what to have... I'm a gracious enough host to let the guest choose that; my only requirement would be that the place have decent vegetarian options. wink

just a question for everyone... if someone came to your home and tried to help you deal with rebuilding it and getting on with your life, would you shoot them because the insurance company tried to screw you ever?

the upside is that i'm not one of the 2 adjusters that have been shot so far.

for the most part... the home-owners that i have...

The waiting to hear part is very rough. I experienced a little of that false courage on the other line when my wife and I finally spoke to my in-laws. They were trying to sound reassuring but not really succeeding.

But, they were alive. In many ways, that's more than enough. Hope all is well with you and your's.
