No, dear Windy, I don't mind at all! My favorite poems? I have so many! I'll give them to you slowly, one at a time.
And you gotta show me yours. I'll show you my underwears and my favorite poems if you show my your underwears and favorite poems. (I'm kidding about the underwears. For now. wink )

Today's poem is "The Kiss" by Anne Sexton,...

I had a pretty good childhood up until I was 13 and shit happened that was not good...then my life went to hell until I met my husband...many years of fucking up and not giving a damn has led me to where I am today..some what fucked up but working on it
My darling that is one of Poe's peoms...he is the shit smile

Ooh! Todd! That's a good one! Care to tell what it is about the poem you like? Here it is:

"A Dream Within a Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?"

This Friday they're showing "Like Water for Chocolate" at the outdoor film festival in my neighborhood. I like that movie. Magic realism rings my bell.

Hey! Everybody who happens upon this journal, I invite you to come see a goofy stupid fun show! Go to http://www.fluidmovement.org and click on "coming soon." I'm one of the narrators of the show, and I have to perfect my Bawlamer accent.

That's a terribly unlflattering picture of me in the publicity poster for the show, but flattering pictures of me can be found on...

What a pleasure it was to meet deadsweetheart last night! He's *adorable!* Those impossibly blue eyes, long lashes, strong chin, high cheekbones, fine nose, full lips...he stands tall and walks with gentlemanly grace.

More than just a pretty face, he's passionately interested in all sorts of things, especially WWII history, about which his independent studies have made him quite knowledgeable. He's also got (among others)...

Should I extend my SG membership for another month? I mean, I'm not sure what I'm doing here. Curiosity and boredom brought me here, are they enough to keep me here?

Why the hell not? smile

How about you? What are you doing on SG?
666monkey:
Oh, sure, why not? This is the most interesting community I have run across in a while. I'll stick around for a bit too.
666monkey:
And, no, in spite of the fact that my great to the nth degree grandfather Col. Obediah came over from France to teach a bunch of English rebels how to kick Redcoat's asses, I did not storm a single place yesterday. Shame on me.
